Photo series of sunspot: 0999 taken by me in Dallas ,Texas. UT:1535-1550, Seeing: 3 (1-5 scale where 1 is best and 5 is poor). North is @1000 for all photos except Continuum 540nm where north is @ 1600. Set-up: William Optics 110mm Fluoro-Star oil spaced triplet, Takahasi EM200 USDlll mount, William Optics 2" tube extenders x 2ea, TeleVue 4x Powermate,Baader 2" Herschel Wedge( 540nm Continuum),DayStar Filters(H-alpha .6A T-scanner,Na D2 Line 588.99nm T-scanner,Ca ll K Line 2A Quantum filter),HuTech 2" UV/IR cut filter,Baader .9 & 1.8 neutral density filters stacked, Luminera SKYnyx 2-2M ccd camera, Dell XPS laptop, Adobe PhotoShop CS2. The UV/IR cut filter is used in all photos except Na D2 because the UV/IR cut filter cause a polarization issue . Additionally, the .9 & 1.8 neutral density filters had to to employed for use with the Na D2 line filter because the Na D2 line is very bright and my camera would not come to focus without it. All photos are originally in black & white and at 12 frames per second. Clean up and color by Adobe PhotoShop CS2.
